While in captivity, industrialist Tony Stark creates a high-tech suit of armor which he first uses to fight his way to freedom, and then to prevent a dark-minded scientific genius from carrying out his nefarious plot against humankind.

TRUE DUDES REVIEW:

Big budget, great actors, amazing special effects, and a whole lot of fun.  Summer has definitely arrived, bring on the blockbusters!  While maybe not quite in the same league as say, Spiderman 2, Iron Man blows the shit out of pretty much every other super hero movie.

Robert Downey Jr. is perfect in the title role.  He plays Tony Stark as cocky and cool as hell.  Gwyneth Paltrow, whom I normally can’t stand, gives a subtle and emotional performance.  I actually liked her character and thought she looked fucking hot.  As the chief villian Jeff Bridges was menacing and creepy.  With his shaved head and big beard, his amish look really freaked me out.  The only character not fully developed was Terrence Howard’s Capt. Rhodes.  He unfortunatly has very little screen time. The direction and story were fast paced and exciting with the action starting almost immediatly.  The awesome special effects and kick ass ending totally left me wanting more.  Finally, a summer movie that lives up to the hype.
